Nathelia Davenport Dayes

Nathelia (Nicky) Davenport Dayes, MSCM, is a mediator and conflict management specialist with more than 20 years of experience delivering a diverse array of dispute resolution services and training to court, private and community organizations. Her expertise includes direct delivery of conflict resolution services including, mediation, conflict and executive coaching, teambuilding, group facilitation and public participation facilitation. She earned a Master’s degree in Negotiations and Conflict Management at the University of Baltimore. Nicky formerly served as the Deputy Director of the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, the regulatory agency of the Supreme Court of Georgia charged with creating and managing court-connected ADR programs statewide.

 

Former President of the Association for Conflict Resolution – GA Chapter, and a National Institute of Corrections trained Cognitive Behavioral Trainer, Ms. Davenport Dayes speaks locally, nationally and internationally at conferences, including the Association for Conflict Resolution’s Annual Conference, the Georgia Annual ADR Institute and Neutral’s Conference, and the Caribbean Conference on Dispute Resolution. She specializes in meditation and leadership training, organizational development and meditation and leadership training. Nicky previously served as Mediation Coordinator in one of Maryland’s premiere community mediation organizations, the Community Mediation Program (CMP). Since 2013, Nicky has been an Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisor with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). She recently served as the Acting FEMA Ombuds, assisting with the resolution of and systemic issues in the workplace.

Ms. Davenport Dayes consults internationally. She provided dispute resolution program design consulting to the Jamaican government working closely with the Dispute Resolution Foundation in Kingston, Jamaica, to improve dispute resolution processes in the courts and the community. Nicky is an experienced mediator, facilitator of difficult conversations and provided Community Conferencing Facilitator Services with America Speaks for survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
